Terms of Use – Afrocast

Welcome to Afrocast, a mobile application providing access to echo f.m, Radio Diaspora, and other radio services. By using the Afrocast app, you agree to the following Terms of Use:

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using Afrocast, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

2. Radio Listening & Data Transmission

  • When you listen to echo f.m or Radio Diaspora, your IP address is briefly transmitted to our radio service provider.

  • This IP address is immediately anonymized, deleted, and rendered untraceable.

  • The sole purpose of this transmission is to generate royalty reports for licensing authorities.

  • We do not sell, share, or trade this information with any third party.

3. Afrocast iOS App

  • The iOS version of Afrocast does not collect any personal data when installed or used.

4. Afrocast Android App

  • The Android version of Afrocast does not collect personal data.

  • To ensure proper playback during phone use, the app may check your device’s call state (idle, in conversation, ended).

  • Afrocast cannot eavesdrop, record calls, or access your phone numbers.

  • The app may access local storage only to save configuration files for faster startup.

5. User Privacy & Control

  • Afrocast does not permanently store user data.

  • Any locally saved configuration data remains on your device only.

  • You may uninstall Afrocast at any time, which will remove all configuration data from your device.

6. License & Usage

  • Afrocast grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app solely for personal, non-commercial listening.

  • You may not modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or exploit the app for unauthorized purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Afrocast is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

  • We are not responsible for any interruptions, errors, or technical issues that may occur while using the app.

  • Your use of Afrocast is at your own risk.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updates will be posted within the Afrocast app and/or on our official website.
